When you need to gather people, hear their voices, maintain respect and civility, and achieve meaningful outcomes, how do you do it in our virtual world? Do you call meetings, schedule meetings, or do you convene meetings? Craig & Patricia Neal, founders of Center for Purposeful Leadership, created the Art of Convening, as a practicefor holding authentic meetings, gatherings, and conversations – in person and virtually. Convening has become essential as an expression of intentional leadership and transformation. Living in Minneapolis where, today, after the killing by police of George Floyd, citizens voices are demanding to be heard and Black Lives Matter is the global cry, their expertise is being put to work convening virtual community gatherings of hundreds of residents with city leaders in co-creating the future well-being of that city.
The convening principles and practices produce outcomes, results, and connections leading to positive transformation of communities, organizations, and teams. If new stories of our humanity are to be told, new ways of co-creating the journey will get us there. This may be the most important work on the planet right now – co-creating a future for us all. Join Cheryl Esposito with Craig & Patricia Neal to learn the true Art of Convening!
