Sonia holds a Ph.D. in metaphysics from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. She has authored 19 internationally best-selling books about intuitive awakening, and transformational leadership capabilities that reside within.
Sonia teaches that our sixth sense, intuition, is really our “first sense.” It is the “conscious intelligence of our heart.” The heart is the first organ to develop; it is our inner guidance system…and many of us are completely ignoring its wisdom. We disregard our “knowing” in favor of “the facts.” We are “urgency addicted” and miss opportunities to create simple moments of connection…because we are too busy. “Under our busy-ness, is a loneliness,” a longing to live a meaningful purpose – without selling our soul.
“We learn by doing…and then we learn by our un-doing.” A few years ago, Sonia had reached her un-doing: her brother died suddenly; 6 weeks later her father died; her marriage ended, and her business began unraveling.
Given Sonia’s acclaimed work, people expect that she must be immune to these pitfalls. Not so, says Sonia. Being deeply intuitive does not absolve us from being human.
She knew she had to find her way back to herself, her truth, to “regain her spiritual footing.” She chose pilgrimage as her healing practice, walking the legendary Camino de Santiago, an 800-kilometer (500-mile) trek over the Pyrenees and across northern Spain. Her book, Walking Home: A Pilgrimage from Humbled to Healed is an intimate sharing of Sonia’s personal transformation on that 35-day journey. Every step moved her closer to her heart’s knowing.
